Williston High School officials have broken ground on the $56.5 million dollar high school.
In a ceremonial groundbreaking today, a member of the sophomore class was among the guest speakers — she represented the first graduating class from the new school in 2017.
Williston schools increased enrollment by about 300 students for a K-12 total of nearly 35-hundred students this year — continuing a 40 percent increase in students over the past five years.
(Jason Germundson, Williston High School Principal) “I’m so excited because everyday our students and staff are doing remarkable, significant and awe-inspiring things. We’re just excited that now the outside of our building will reflect what’s going on on the inside. Because there’s some pretty awesome things going on on the inside.”
The $34 million dollar bond passed earlier this year with a 76 percent approval.
