Alerus Center Convention Center
Grand Forks, North Dakota
The Alerus Center is a multipurpose indoor facility with seating capacities of up to 22,500. It is designed for football, basketball and hockey and is the only regulation indoor soccer surface between Seattle and Minneapolis. The Convention Center includes 14 meeting rooms, an exhibition hall and ballroom of 30,000 sq.ft., prefunction spaces and a full serving kitchen.
The meeting rooms can be serviced from the back corridor without access from the front. The ballroom is divisible into five different configurations of varying sizes. This project was awarded with the Facilities “Prime Site Award.”
After ten years of use, the exterior of the Alerus Center needed a few minor updates, both to complete design features that were originally planned but not implemented, and also to help keep the facility fresh and vibrant.
