Barnes County North School
Leal, North Dakota
The Barnes County North School District wanted to bring their three school sites together under one roof in a new PreK-12 school located in rural Leal, ND. The 85,000 square foot facility will serve over 300 students from a large, primarily rural, geographic area and will enable the district to have not only a more efficient building to reduce ongoing operating costs but will serve to be a source of community pride and as a gathering place for the region.
The project seeks to utilize the most current technological and architectural advances to create a building for the 21st century, rethinking traditional computer labs and integrating tablet learning into the classroom, investigating options for distance learning pods, and developing high tech science and technology education labs all lend themselves to the education of today’s modern student.
The building will be a glowing beacon on the prairie; eliciting civic pride and educating tomorrow’s leaders.
