Bumbershute
Edina, Minnesota
The Bumbershute is 1,800 SF women’s clothing targeting a young and hip clientele. It is located in the trendy 50th and France neighborhood of Edina, an upscale Minneapolis suburb. The client, who is a former New York model, was looking for an environment that was both industrial and feminine.
The design accomplishes this look by contrasting rough finishes with refined elements such as the illuminated translucent walls of the dressing rooms and a floating canopy with a red chandelier suspended through a circular opening.
Bumbershute was established in 1970, in Fargo, ND. The store moved to the Twin Cities in 1978 and has been located in Deephaven, Wayzata, and in 2008, Edina.
