James River Valley Library
Jamestown, North Dakota
The 15,000 SF addition and 10,000 SF renovation of the 1919 Alfred Dickey Public Library will bring the beloved Jamestown landmark into the 21st century information age.
The addition will strongly relate to the Prairie School architecture of the existing Library while elevating the civic architecture of downtown Jamestown. A new main entrance will be established to visually transition between the exiting building and the addition and to provide a greater public presence on First Avenue South, the main commercial street of downtown Jamestown.
The addition will feature large glass areas on the public façade which will provide views to the activities inside the Library as well as views out.
