Joint Operations Center
Thief River Falls, Minnesota
The State of Minnesota combined the regional facility needs for four departments into one shared headquarters. State Highway Patrol, MnDOT, DNR, and Pennington County now share headquarters, training facilities, vehicular maintenance, and storage all under one roof. The addition to the existing County shop more than quadruples the existing structure from 13,260 square feet to 63,371 square feet.
The building features a shared commons space which houses conference rooms, staging, storage, lockers, and support space for all users, as well as a shared building entrance and image through a landscaped courtyard.
The building is the first to incorporate the state’s new B3 sustainable guidelines.
"This is a great facility that will last a long time and is one of the best-functioning buildings in the State. It has a wonderful campus feel."
