Northwest Art Center

Minot State University

Temperature and humidity control as well as museum security that meet museum accreditation standards will allow the Northwest Art Center to display touring exhibitions from other accredited museums. A portion of the space in the galleries will be devoted to nationally known local artist Walter Piehl who is known for his vibrant, expressionistic western Americana-themed paintings.

Special climate controlled vitrines will display the University’s important collection of Native American art and artifacts. A gracious reception space will host student exhibits and receptions for traveling and local shows mounted in the galleries, as well and other campus and community functions. Equally important as the galleries is the art storage and curatorial spaces which will also be designed to meet accreditation standards.
