LG (as Studio Five Architects) served as the Owner’s Representative for the major expansion of Regions Hospital. The total project cost was approximately $200 million. This project was delivered under the CM@Risk delivery method.

The project included new construction of approximately 380,000 sf for new operating room suites, Heart Cath Labs, Emergency Department and patient rooms. After the new construction was completed, approximately 70,000 sf of existing space was remodeled for new uses. SFA acted as the Owner’s Representative with Ellerbe Becket as designer.

As the Owner’s Representative, Studio Five was responsible for leading the architect and construction manager selection process, contract negotiations and the management and coordination of Ellerbe Becket as the architects and Kraus-Anderson Construction as the construction manager. Studio Five also coordinated a number of specialty consultants such as testing and inspections, medical equipment planners, signage and wayfinding consultants, and food service consultants.

Studio Five led multiple teams within Regions Hospital in the purchasing and coordination of over $15,000,000 in medical equipment, $4,000,000 in furnishings, and $5,000,000 in technology.

The project was completed in 2009.
