Sanford Healthcare System is committed to serving the growing Fargo-Moorhead community with a 1-million-square-foot, 11-story medical center and central energy plant focused on the future models of healthcare. Sanford Medical Center Fargo features 310 inpatient beds with shell space for 74 beds. Centers of excellence will include pediatrics, emergency/Level 2 trauma center, orthopedics/sports medicine, neurosurgery, oncology, heart surgery/interventional cardiology and women’s/infants services.

Designed in a classic collegiate Gothic style, the structure has 4 towers in the shape of an “X,” allowing unobstructed views from every patient room. The interior design is flexible, with adaptable spaces that promote healing and reduce patient stress. Nature-inspired art, abundant natural light and neutral colors provide a sense of calm and comfort. As a teaching hospital, an integrated physician model will accommodate leading researchers. JLG Architects is the local architect, and is working in collaboration with HKS.
