UND College of Education

University of North Dakota

The University of North Dakota is one of the oldest higher educational institutions in the State of North Dakota and is known for its liberal arts foundation. It has a well laid out campus with many historical buildings that the University chooses to maintain and restore when possible. The Education Building is one such building and is an existing masonry structure at the heart of campus adjacent to Gillette Hall. The main concept of the project was to gut and remodel the Education Building and create an addition that linked it to Gillette Hall.

The space primarily consists of faculty offices and core learning spaces. Early on, the University decided that the project should follow LEED guidelines, with a goal of attaining the equivalent to Silver Certification.
