UND Human Patient Simulator

University of North Dakota

By expanding the Family Practice Center on the campus of the University of North Dakota, the School of Medicine and Health Sciences is greatly enhancing the medical education experience. The addition, named the Human Patient Simulation Center and designed by JLG, houses up to eight highly technical simulated surgery rooms. By allowing students to get a hands-on experience with the simulators, the students are able to use procedures they might not have the opportunity to perform – thus producing more experienced physicians.

The simulators are able to create a variety of scenarios for students and faculty. Simulation rooms have video recording equipment so students are able to review procedures and learn from their mistakes. This addition blends into the existing mall containing the University bookstore.
