WSC Housing

Williston State College

Residence Life is often cited as one of the top 5 reasons why a student selects a college or university, and so institutions of higher learning are always looking for new and improved ways to bring dynamic, engaging, and homelike atmospheres to their campuses.

A growing trend around the country has brought private developers and public universities together in order to allow schools to meet the students demand for on-campus housing while focusing their capital resources on other facility needs like classrooms and labs. Developers understand how to cost-effectively cater to today’s students – who have never shared a bedroom, barely shared a bathroom, and are accustomed to high-quality cable TV and Internet access – and young people like the mix of options beyond the “traditional” live-work-play residence halls. JLG Architects and Dakota Commercial & Development assisted in Williston State College’s success with a new four-story, 74-unit mixed-use building.

With commercial on the ground floor and a mix of studio, 1-bedroom, 2-bedroom and 3-bedroom units, the modern facility compliments the campus’s new Frontier Residence Hall (also by JLG), as well as the existing infrastructure.
